Description

This is a late 18th to early 19th century detached house on Chapel Street. It is two stories high and has three plain sash windows. One window on the first floor has been blocked. All windows have flat brick arches and stone sills. The central doorway is raised and features pilasters, an open pediment, an elliptical fanlight with radiating glazing bars, a six-panelled door, and steps leading up to it. Moulded wooden eaves run along the top of the house. The ends of the building are gabled, and it is roofed with slates. The property forms a group with numbers 2 to 8 (even) on Chapel Street, St Peter’s Church, its gate piers, gates and railings, and the paved area of Cockshuts.
