Description

No. 7 High Street is a 17th-century building that has been altered and extensively restored. It features a narrow gabled front that has been largely modified with 19th-century "black and white" detailing, concealing earlier timber framing that is revealed internally. The building has two storeys and an attic within the gable, with slight overhangs at both the second storey and the gable. A 19th-century rectangular oriel window is fitted with plain casements, and the building has plain restored barge boards and a stone slate roof. The interior has been significantly altered, but portions of the original timber framing are exposed throughout. The building is part of a group that includes the Town Hall and Nos 5 to 11 (odd).
