Description
The Former National Sunday School, dated 1828, is a two-storey building constructed of red brick with a deep stone plinth. It features seven renewed sash windows without glazing bars, each with plain stone lintels and sills. The central section of the building slightly projects and contains three windows, topped with a modillion pediment that encloses a tablet engraved with the date. The eaves are moulded, and the roof is covered with slates.
On the left side, there is a two-windowed bay that was added in 1892, which includes a doorway framed by a moulded stone surround with a cornice supported by consoles, leading to a plain divided door. Adjacent to this is a lower two-storeyed bay with three windows and a plain doorway.
The Former National Sunday School and the properties at Nos 31 to 37 (odd) form a group.
