Description
Unicorn House is an early 19th-century shop with living accommodation above. It has undergone alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of washed Flemish bond brick, with a Kerridge stone-slate roof and a brick chimney. It is two and a half storeys high, with a two-bay front. The ground floor features two Georgian-style bowed shop windows on either side of a glazed entrance door. Above the shop are 20th-century mullioned and transomed wooden casement windows, set within cambered brick heads. The upper storeys also have two-light casement windows. Formerly a public house, Unicorn House was combined with Spindles and the Post Office, which were originally listed as a single item. It is listed for group value only.
