Description

The White House Cafe is a late 18th-century building, originally a farmhouse and now a restaurant. It is constructed of washed Flemish bond brick on a stone plinth, with a Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge, and two gable brick chimneys. The front is symmetrical, with three bays. The end bays feature three-light mullioned and transomed wooden windows with applied lead glazing, set under cambered brick heads. The central doorway, added in the 20th century, is under a cambered head and is flanked by a similar two-light window above. Above the doorway is a blocked circular window within a simple triangular pediment, detailed with brick dentilations.
