Description
The Legh Arms Hotel is a hotel that dates from the late 16th century, with additions from the 18th century and subsequent alterations. The building features some timber framing, while the majority is constructed from washed brick. It has a roof made of Kerridge stone-slate with a stone ridge and three brick chimneys. The original part of the hotel has a rectangular H-plan layout, consisting of two storeys and four bays. The end bays are gabled, with the right bay displaying timber herringboning. The windows are a mix of casements with glazing bars, some of which have brick relieving arches. The left end bay has an added hood, and there is a later addition of two bays to the left, which includes casements with glazing bars and a Georgian style bow window.
