Description

Mereview Farm is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with a date stone indicating 1773. The farmhouse is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with stone dressings. The main front has three bays arranged symmetrically. The central doorway has a plain surround, a rectangular fanlight, and a 19th-century six-panel door. A coved porch, supported on carved consoles, shelters the door. Three-light casement windows with stone sills and lintels designed to resemble rusticated voussoirs bearing dropped keystones flank the doorway. Similar windows are on the first floor, with a central two-light window and matching three-light windows to either side. All windows are 19th-century replacements. A wing extends to the right. On the right side of the main front is a single-light ground floor window, also with stone sills and lintels. A staircase window, extending from the ground to the first floor and later altered with an arched top, is located to the right. A 20th-century doorway is to the left of this staircase window, and a two-light window is above it on the first floor. The gable displays a date stone. The right-hand wing has two three-light cambered-headed ground floor windows, a two-light window to the left of the first floor, and a three-light window to the right of the first floor.
