Description
Swanwick Hall is a farmhouse dating to the late 17th century, though it has a late 19th-century appearance. The exterior is constructed of old brown brick with slate and tile roof coverings. The house is two storeys and an attic, originally with three bays, to which a later bay has been added to the north. Windows are 2- and 3-light flush casements with glazing bars, stone surrounds, and blue brick sills. A projecting gabled brick porch, featuring a half-glazed door and a Tudor-arched lintel, has been added. The ground floor has a projecting brick plinth with a weathered blue brick top course, and a projecting band is present at first-floor level. Gable end and intermediate stacks are visible. The interior features bevelled beams and wide-boarded doors. The attic contains original timbers within the internal walls, including old purlins, a ridge tree, wind braces, and rafters.
