Description
Barnshaw Hall is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with some alterations and additions. It is constructed of red brick in English Garden Wall Bond and features a machine tile roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a total of four bays and an asymmetrical plan under a two-span roof. A toothed band runs along the first floor. The entrance has a bolection-moulded door with two rows of three panels, sheltered by a lean-to porch. The original windows have been replaced with flush casements that have one to three lights, along with glazing bars, turning pieces, and segmental arches. A gable with a barge board covers the two central bays, while the east bay is set back. The building has high-standing brick stacks. Inside, there are timbers in the walls, exposed bevelled beams, and oak doors that are either two-panel or boarded.
