Description

Heath House is a former addition to No. 103, now a house built around 1820, with a projecting end bay and other additions from the mid-19th century. It features Flemish bond orange-red brick with white pointing and a Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge, and four brick chimneys. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two stories high with a three-bay front. The left end bay includes a two-story curved bay window with flat, gauged, and rubbed brick heads above two 12-pane sashes on each storey. There is a fluted stone frieze, a projecting course, and a low blocking course at the eaves. The central bay has a semi-circular headed doorcase made of gauged and rubbed bricks, featuring a plain fanlight and a six-panelled door, with a 12-pane sash above. The right end bay projects two bays forward and has two horned 12-pane sashes on the side. At the rear, there is a canted two-story bay from the mid-19th century.

Inside, the main area consists of servant's quarters, except for the drawing room, which has a ceiling with an acanthus frieze and a reeded border. The door has a moulded surround with rosettes in the corners, and a Gothic fireplace that was brought from the now demolished Eaton Hall in Chester.
