Description

The stable and garage block, located approximately 15 yards north of Henbury Hall, dates from the mid to late 17th century and features a brick facing dated 1742. It is constructed with a timber frame and brick infill on the interior, covered by an outer layer of English garden wall bond brick. The building has a slate roof and is single storey.

The front, which faces a courtyard, has a slightly projecting bay to the right of centre that includes a basket arch and double barn doors, with a circular window above. To the left, there are two stable doors and a circular window where an original pitch hole once was. The front also features cambered headed casement windows with one and two lights, along with a doorway topped by a 4 x 3 pane window.

To the left, there is a 19th-century harness room extension, and to the right, a 20th-century garage extension. The rear of the building has a central semi-circular archway with 20th-century half-glazed doors that include Gothick tracery and a dated keystone above. Gabled bays on either side also feature 20th-century half-glazed doors with Gothick tracery and circular pitch holes in the gables. Inside, there is small framing on the rear wall and 18th-century trusses with king posts and angle struts.
