Description
Pump Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It has a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill and a thatched roof. The layout features a baffle entry and consists of two cells across two storeys.
On the entrance front, there is a central front door, with a two-light casement window to the left and a three-light casement window to the right. The first floor has a two-light casement window to the left and a two-light dormer window to the right. The timber framing on this front is mostly simulated.
The right gable end displays painted timber framing, with three-light windows on both the ground and first floors. The left gable end features small timber framing (some of which is painted) and includes a queen-post truss and V-strut at the apex. There is a two-light casement window on the ground floor and a two-light casement window in the gable on the first floor. At the rear, there is a 20th-century service addition to the right.
