Description

This house, located approximately 35 yards to the northwest of Redbroke Hall in Peover Superior, dates from the mid to late 17th century and features 19th-century additions and alterations. It is constructed of red English garden wall bond brick and timber framing with whitewashed infill, topped with a slate roof.

The entrance front displays four by three cells of small framing on the right side, set on a stone plinth with an angle brace at the corner. Above this, there is a further row of four cells indicating a raised roof line. A two-light window is positioned on the left, while to the left, there is brick walling with two casements featuring two lights and splayed heads, along with 19th-century gabled dormers above. An outhouse with a corner roof line is located to the left and includes two single-light casement windows. A 20th-century lean-to is situated on the right.

The right-hand gable end features a queen-post truss with angle and arched braces. New purlins were inserted in the 19th century when the building was re-roofed at a shallower incline. The rear of the house has four by three cells of small framing on the left, with four additional cells above, serving as the entrance front. There is one ground floor two-light casement window, along with three, two, and three-light casement windows to the right, and one two-light casement window on the first floor to the left.
