Description

Canal bridge number 19 was built around 1830 by William Crosley for the Macclesfield Canal Company. It is constructed from hammer-dressed buff sandstone and features a horseshoe elliptical arch. The bridge has chamfered coping at road level and a plain parapet with rounded coping ends that culminate in square pilasters. This bridge is a standard design for the canal, with six other complete examples located in Adlington.
