Description

Spring Bank is a house built in the early 19th century. It features a sandstone facade with ashlar detailing and watershot sides and rear, topped by a hipped slate roof and end wall chimneys. The building has a rectangular three-bay plan with service wings at the rear. It stands two storeys high and is designed in a simple classical style, characterized by a moulded cornice and a low parapet. The central entrance consists of a panelled door set within a Tuscan doorcase, complete with a segmental fanlight, although the glazing has been altered. There are five large sash windows with glazing bars on the front. To the right, the lower service wing has similar windows on each floor, and there is a former barn or stable block that extends beyond this, enclosing a rear courtyard.
