Description

The Market Cross in Chapeltown is a structure of unknown date, although its base may be medieval. It features a square stone base and a short pedestal. The cylindrical wooden shaft stands about 2 meters high and is topped with a small moulded cap and a horizontal cross. It is likely that the cross has been moved from its original location.
