12 Houses. Dated 1906. For the Durham Aged Miners' Homes Association. Yellow brick with bands of red brick; roof of Welsh slate has decorated red ridge tiles. Terrace with one house at each end having returned gable to street. Rectangular fanlights over hardboard-covered doors which are grouped in pairs, the end 2 being in the angle of the return. Each house has one double sash window with projecting stone cill, central stone mullion and stop-chamfered stone lintel. Row of turned wooden posts and brackets, on low brick wall, supports full-length porch. Chimneys of yellow brick with red brick cornice; 6 transverse gables to street have barge boards and decorative timber with rendered infill. Low coped brick walls carrying wrought iron railings enclose garden in front of house. Included for sociological reasons.
