Description
The three Clark tombs and the enclosing wall are located about 10 metres south of the east end of the presbytery at Tynemouth Priory Church. These tombs date from the late 18th century and were created by E. Dawson for members of the Clark family, who died between 1688 and 1847. Notable individuals include William of Dockwray Square, who died in 1810, and William of Belford Hall, who died in 1837. The tombs are made of stone and feature six fat turned balusters that support moulded-edged table tops, each adorned with the Clark family arms. The enclosing wall consists of blocks of sandstone arranged to form a square enclosure that is one course high.
