Description

This is a late 18th-century house on Front Street in Tynemouth. It is constructed of brick, with a low, painted and rendered plinth, and has a Welsh slate roof. The house is three storeys high with three windows. A central 6-panelled door, with a 3-pane overlight, is sheltered by a canopy supported on carved brackets. The door is set within a flat brick arch. The sash windows have glazing bars, and are arranged in tripartite groupings in the outer bays. All windows have cambered brick arches on the ground and first floors, and flat brick arches on the second floor. A door was inserted between the second and third bays but has since been blocked up. String courses mark each floor level. The house has two brick chimneys at each end.
