Description

The Haswell tomb, located about 12 metres south of Percy Chapel at Tynemouth Priory Church, is a grade II listed table tomb dating from around 1817. It was created by J. Bowman and commemorates William Haswell, who was a lecturer in the parish of Tynemouth and died in 1817, along with members of his family who passed away by 1819. The tomb is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features six moulded balusters that stand on a moulded tooled base, supporting an inscribed moulded-edged slab.
