Description

The Liddell tomb, located about 20 metres south of the Percy Chapel of Tynemouth Priory Church, is a chest tomb dating from around 1802. It commemorates members of the Liddell family who died between 1781 and 1845. The tomb is made of sandstone ashlar and is designed in the style of a classical sarcophagus. It features four fluted pilasters on each side, with outward-curved end panels that support a moulded-edged slab. At the time of the survey, one side panel was missing.
