Description

Brigade Cottage is a watch club cottage dating from 1886–7, likely designed by C.T. Gomoszynski, the Borough Engineer. It is located off Tynemouth Pier Road, at the south end of Tynemouth. The cottage is constructed with weatherboarding above a painted rendered plinth, and has a Welsh slate roof with a painted brick chimney. The building is single-storied with three bays. It features a central glazed door within a bargeboarded porch, and two-light windows. The right return displays a sliding storm shutter to a renewed window. The roof is hipped. The cottage is listed for its group value with the Tynemouth Watch Club House.
