Description

This is an early 19th-century sandstone boundary marker situated in a brick wall in front of number 7 Lindisfarne Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. The marker is constructed of ashlar and stands 0.5 metres high, featuring a round top. It is inscribed with the initials "R B S" in Roman capitals. The stone was set in a wall that runs forward from the adjacent house. Richard Burdon Sanderson, who took the surname Sanderson in 1815, formerly owned land in Jesmond.
