Description
Giovanni's Restaurant is a building that was originally three houses, constructed in the third quarter of the 18th century. It features English bond brickwork and has a purple slate roof with flat stone gable coping. The building stands three storeys tall and has six bays. There is a step up to the hardboard-covered door of the central house, with similar doors for the other houses, all framed in round architraves with a frieze and cornice. The windows have wide boxes for the sashes, some of which have been renewed, and they include glazing bars that are almost flush with the wall face, set under cambered brick arches with plain brick sills. The ground floor sashes are partly covered, and some of the top floor sashes feature late 19th-century glazing bars. There is a chimney at the left end of the building. Additionally, there are two gas lamps on brackets attached to the wall, which are square and tapered with cylindrical ventilators on pyramidal tops.
