Description
The walls, piers, gates, and railings in front of the Careers Centre were built in 1883 by R.J. Johnson. They are constructed from sandstone ashlar and wrought iron. At the west entrance, there are two tall piers, and there is one pier at the east end of the wall south of the Youth Employment Centre, along with another to the north-west. The structure features three rusticated square piers with plinths, cornices, and ball finials, as well as one pier without a cornice and finial at the north-west. There are dwarf stone walls with moulded coping to the west and south of the building. The railings have spear-head designs with ramped top rails and panelled principals topped with urn finials. The wide gates on the west side have an overthrow, while a simpler single gate is located on the south side.
