Description
The forecourt wall and gates to Wills' Tobacco Factory were built in the mid-1940s. They are constructed from Portland stone ashlar and wrought iron. The wall stands about 1.2 meters high and features gabled copings, which ramp up in stages from east to west. At the western end, the wall rises to a pair of square gate piers that have slipped and chamfered tops. These piers support side screens and double gates adorned with scrolled ornamentation, which are hung from wrought iron inner piers that also feature scrolling. At the top center of each gate, there is an enamelled shield.
