Description

This pair of lampholders is located in front of the Old Assembly Rooms in Newcastle upon Tyne, dating from the 18th century or early 19th century. Made of cast iron, the lampholders feature four-sided scrolled piers, with the one on the right topped by a renewed urn finial. They are connected by a dwarf wall made of ashlar, which has a low-curved coping. The lampholders were moved after the removal of railings and a wall.
