Description
No. 52 Westgate Road is a house that has been converted into a bank. It was built in 1861 by Watson for C.J. Gibb and constructed by W. Gibson. The building is made of sandstone ashlar and has three storeys and a basement, featuring six bays. The ground floor has rusticated piers and round-arched windows, with a square stone porch located in the fourth bay. Above, there are giant pilasters supporting sash windows. The first-floor windows are segmental-headed, while the second-floor windows are round-cornered, all set within keyed architraves. Stone balconies adorn the first-floor windows, and the top of the building is finished with a cornice and balustrade.
