Description
The ruins of the Church of St Thomas A Becket are located on the east side of Durham Road in Grindon. The remains include an ashlar nave from the late 12th century, featuring a south doorway, lancet windows, and a 13th-century east window. The chancel, constructed from rubble, is likely older, although few details are preserved. The walls of the south chapel contain a piscina, and the base of the south porch walls is also visible.
