Description
Lion Bridge, located to the east of Wynyard Hall, was built in the early to mid-19th century by Benjamin Wyatt. The bridge is constructed of ashlar stone and features a deep segmental arch with an archivolt, adorned with paterae in the spandrels. At each end, there are paired Roman Doric pilasters. The structure includes a frieze and cornice, as well as a balustraded parapet that is topped with terminal figures of lions lying down on pedestals, which are intricately carved with relief swags and paterae.
