Description
Golden Gates, gate piers, screen railings, and lodges to Wynyard Park were built in the early to mid-19th century, probably by Benjamin Wyatt. The structure features six squat ashlar piers. There is a central double gate and two sets of single side gates, all with wrought iron gilded spearhead standards. The gates are flanked by short side walls. The twin lodges are made of ashlar and topped with Welsh slate roofs and ashlar stacks. Each lodge is one storey high and includes angle pilasters, an eaves entablature, pedimented ends, and prostyle porches. The sash windows have glazing bars set within architraves.
