Description

This is a row of four early 19th-century cottages numbered 2 to 5, located on Chapel Road in Billingham. Numbers 2 and 3 have been painted, while numbers 4 and 5 have a rendered finish. They all have slate roofs. The cottages are double-span and two storeys high, with a total of six windows. Keystones are visible above the altered first-floor windows of numbers 3, 4, and 5. The ground floor features projecting bays; two are in a Regency style with original sash windows, and two are later 19th-century additions with entablature tops. The cottages have modernised doors set within panel reveals and pilaster-and-entablature wooden doorcases.
