Description
Barrington House is a building from the 1870s, standing three storeys tall. It has three windows on the east side and two on the north side, which faces Yarm Lane. The structure is made of brick with regular header courses, and features stone vermiculated quoins and dressings around the first-floor windows. The second-floor windows have alternate red and yellow brick voussoirs with a stone "M" label. A polychrome fascia decorates the dentil cornice, with small rosettes positioned below the eaves. The roof is hipped and covered with slate.
The windows are plate glass sash types; those on the second floor are round-headed, while the first-floor windows are segmental headed, adorned with cable mouldings at the tops, vermiculated keys, and scrolled bases around their surrounds. On the ground floor, there are three-light bays with moulded cornices and segmental headed windows. The entrance is located on Bowesfield Lane, featuring a round-headed moulded stone doorpiece with foliage in the spandrels. Above the half-glazed doors, there is a semi-circular light, and the doors themselves have carved lower panels.
