Description
Nos 9 and 10 in Wilton Village are a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century, possibly designed by Ignatius Bonomi. They are constructed from chevron-tooled dressed sandstone and feature a Welsh slate roof with stone ridge and gable copings. The cottages are 1½ storeys high and consist of four bays, with the middle bays projecting under linked gables. The narrower end bays have boarded doors set in chamfered surrounds. The original chamfered surrounds also frame mid-20th century casements. There are hoodmoulds over the ground-floor openings, and a ridge stack with four square, corniced, conjoined shafts. A single-storey rear extension added in the mid to late 20th century is not considered of special interest. These cottages are included in the listing for their group value.
