Description
Two standing stones, known as Six Stoups, are located approximately 335 meters south-west of Ridge Farmhouse. These stones are part of a group of five remaining standing stones from the post-medieval period. The stones are made of roughly-dressed limestone. The stone on the south side of the road measures approximately 30 centimeters by 30 centimeters at the base and stands about 1.2 meters high. The stone on the north side of the road is approximately 23 centimeters by 20 centimeters at the top, 25 centimeters by 38 centimeters at the base, and is 1.04 meters high. Together, these stones mark the end of the moor plateau road and the approach to Birk Brow bank.
