Description

ORMESBY CHURCH LANE NZ 51 NW west side 6/28 East Lodge (Formerly listed as Gateway and 5.5.52 Lodges at Ormesby Hall) G.V. II

Lodge, dated 1824, at entrance to Ormesby Hall. Margin-tooled dressed sandstone, with plinth and pilaster strips at angles. Welsh slate roof. Single storey and basement. 3 bays with slightly-projecting gabled entre and projecting porch; Boarded door, up 3 steps, in chamfered surround under hoodmould. Moulded cornice to porch parapet. 2-light chamfered mullioned windows holding renewed sashes, under hoodmoulds. Date inscribed below blind lancet in gable. Moulded eaves cornice and gable coping. Hipped roof with corniced ridge stack. Single-bay returns have similar windows.
