Description
East Lodge is a lodge dating from 1824, located at the entrance to Ormesby Hall. It is constructed from margin-tooled dressed sandstone and features a plinth and pilaster strips at the corners. The roof is made of Welsh slate. The building is single storey with a basement and consists of three bays, including a slightly projecting gabled entrance and a projecting porch. The porch has a boarded door that is accessed by three steps and is set in a chamfered surround beneath a hoodmould. There is a moulded cornice at the parapet of the porch. The lodge has two-light chamfered mullioned windows with renewed sashes, also under hoodmoulds. The date is inscribed below a blind lancet in the gable. Additional features include a moulded eaves cornice and gable coping, as well as a hipped roof with a corniced ridge stack. The single-bay returns have similar windows.
