Description
Nos. 2 to 7 St Hilda's Place is a terrace of six cottages located in Loftus. The cottages were built at different times, with Nos. 6 and 7 dating from the late 18th century, No. 5 around 1800, and Nos. 2 to 4 from the early 19th century. They are constructed from dressed sandstone and feature a chamfered plinth at Nos. 6 and 7. The roofs are covered with clay pantiles, which have been renewed on Nos. 2 to 5, and there are stone ridge copings along with gable copings and block kneelers at the left end of No. 2.
The terrace is two storeys high, with No. 6 having two windows, while the others each have one window. Each cottage has a doorway on the right-hand side. Nos. 2, 3, 4, and 7 have renewed six-panel doors, while Nos. 5 and 6 feature half-glazed doors. The cottages also have renewed sash windows with glazing bars and stone sills. There are five corniced chimney stacks located at the ends and junctions of the cottages.
