Description

LOFTUS HIGH STREET NZ 7218 (south side), Loftus. 4/39 Jessemine Cottage. II Wrongly shown as Jesmond Cottage on O.S. plan. House, late C18 with early C19 right extension. Chevron-tooled dressed sandstone with plinth. Welsh slate roof with stone ridge and gable copings. 2 storeys, 2 plus one windows. Central 6-panel door and overlight with Gothick glazing bars in renewed timber pilaster-and-entablature doorcase in keeping. Sash windows with glazing bars and painted sills. Shallow parapet with roll-moulded copings. Corniced end stacks. Rear pent wing forms catslide with main roof.
