Description
Jessemine Cottage is a house located on Loftus High Street, dating from the late 18th century, with an early 19th-century extension on the right. The building is constructed from chevron-tooled dressed sandstone and features a plinth. It has a Welsh slate roof with a stone ridge and gable copings. The cottage is two storeys high and has two windows plus one. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with an overlight that has Gothick glazing bars, set within a renewed timber pilaster-and-entablature doorcase that matches the style of the house. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and painted sills. A shallow parapet with roll-moulded copings tops the structure, and there are corniced stacks at the ends. At the rear, a pent wing creates a catslide roof that extends from the main roof.
