Description

This is a mid-19th century house located on the north side of High Street in Skelton. It is constructed of dressed sandstone and has a mid-20th century concrete tiled roof with a stone ridge, gable copings, block kneelers, and end stacks; the stack on the right is partly rendered. The house is two storeys high with two windows. An off-centre doorway is present. The door and windows are replacements from the late 20th century, but they are set within the original window and door openings. The sills are painted. The ground-floor window on the left is flanked by masonry that was rebuilt after a projecting bay window was removed. A single-storey rear extension is considered to be of no particular architectural interest. The building is included on the list for its group value.
