Description
The boundary stone, located 460 meters southeast of Claphow Farmhouse, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of dressed sandstone and measures approximately 25 cm by 30 cm, standing 45 cm high, with a domed top. The east face is inscribed with the letter "P," while the other faces are concealed by an earth bank. This stone marks the boundary between land owned by Pease and Partners, who were ironmasters, and land owned by the Wharton family of the Skelton Estate.
