Description

Farm Cottage is a house located 45 meters south of Foxdale Farmhouse, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of dressed sandstone and features a hipped Welsh slate roof with stone ridge copings and a central stack with a cornice. The building is two storeys high and has two bays. A central gabled stone porch with boarded double doors leads into the house. The ground floor has late 19th-century canted bay windows with sashes, while the first floor features sash windows with glazing bars and painted stone sills. The listing also includes a late 19th-century extension on the left-hand side (north) made from the same materials. This extension is two storeys high and has a single bay, with a mid-20th-century casement window on the ground floor and a sash window with glazing bars and a painted stone sill on the first floor, along with a stone stack with a cornice. An extension to the rear (east side) is not of interest. The cottage is included in the listing for its group value.
