Description
The farm buildings at Murton Farm, dating from around 1880, are planned structures built from snecked stone and topped with Welsh slate roofs. The layout is square, featuring a front range of single-storey byres that includes a higher gabled carriage arch, with a dovecote and vane positioned above it.
To the right, there is a two-storey cart shed and granary, which has eight segmental arches on the ground floor. The first floor contains ten windows, with shuttered lower sections and eight-pane upper sections. The rear range and the left return also consist of two storeys, housing stables, byres, and workshops on the ground floor, with granaries above. These areas have irregular openings, boarded doors, and louvred windows.
In the center, the yard is covered by three original parallel roofs, which feature impressive king- and queen-post construction in their interiors.
