Description
The gatepiers and screen walls at East Lodge to Longridge Tower were built around 1876 and feature eagle finials from the 17th or early 18th century. Constructed from ashlar, the square piers have corner shafts with small, closely spaced consoles beneath the cornices. Each pier is topped with large rustic eagles that have outstretched wings, set on roll-moulded bases. The structure includes short, low concave quadrant walls with moulded plinths and steeply-ridged coping, along with similar end piers that have ball finials.
