Description

This is an ironmonger's shop, trading as F. Jackson and Sons, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of squared rubble, which is painted white on the front, and has a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and features two windows. The side facing the Market Place has alternating quoins. There is a central 20th-century opening with two partly-glazed doors. To the left, there is a 19th-century shop front with two large panes, flanked by fluted pilasters that have pulvinated caps, and a fascia with a cornice. The right side and the upper floor have 16-pane sash windows with flush sills and lintels. At the rear, there is a fragment of a plinth on the right return, and the rear facing the churchyard includes a two-storey projecting staircase bay. This building is included for its group value.
