Description
Sammy's Chop Suey House is a house that includes a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It features rendered masonry, a stone-tiled roof, and an ashlar chimney stack. The building has two storeys and four bays, with a plinth and raised-and-chamfered quoins. There is a six flush-panelled door to the left of the centre, set in a raised tooled-and-margined surround. To the right, there is a replaced door and overlight in an identical surround. A large late 20th-century glazed shop front is located to the left. Between the doorways, there is a 12-pane sash window in a raised surround with a projecting sill. Above, there are three 12-pane sash windows and a blocked window, all in identical surrounds. The roof is hipped with an off-centre ridge stack. A narrow two-storey addition at the rear, dating from the 20th century, is not of special interest. The building is included for its group value.
