Description
This bridge, built around 1810 for Sir Francis Blake, is located approximately 400 yards south-west of the Tillmouth Park Hotel. Constructed from ashlar stone, it features a Gothick style. The bridge has a narrow tall round arch, which incorporates a low rusticated segmental arch. On either side of the main arch are canted projections with segment-headed recesses. Tall narrow pointed arches lead to pointed tunnel-vaulted chambers flanking these projections. The frieze is decorated with quatrefoils, and the bridge is topped with a castellated parapet, which has crenellations with moulded edges and pairs of trefoiled blank panels.
