Description
The building is a byre and granary located about 20 yards northeast of Lowshield Green Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed from dressed stone and random rubble, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The structure is L-shaped, featuring a two-storey front block and a single-storey range to the left and rear.
The ground floor of the two-storey range, which is from the 18th century, has four segmental arches for the byres; the left arch is now blocked, and the second arch is partly covered by early 19th-century outside stone stairs leading to the granary. This area includes a stable-type door set in an alternating-block surround and two half-slatted windows. The single-storey bay to the left has one plank door and marks the end of the rear range, which has three plank doors in alternating-block surrounds and ventilation slits.
The building features a gabled roof with flat coping. In front of the two-storey byre, there is a stockyard enclosed by a random rubble wall with ridged coping, along with a mounting block situated in front.
