Description
The stable range located to the north-west of the pit head at Ashington Woodhorn Colliery was built in 1894. It is constructed from yellow Ashington brick and features a Welsh slate roof. The south elevation is a single storey with three bays, containing three doorways—two of which have stable doors—and four small windows. All openings are topped with timber lintels, and there is a small stack at the left end.
Inside, the stable has timber partitions with a swept top rail, hay racks, and ceramic drinking troughs. At the west end, there is a forge that includes a stepped brick hood.
