Description
This building is a cartshed with an attached hen house, located about 50 yards north-west of Fenwick Steads Farmhouse. The cartshed dates from the mid-19th century, while the hen house is from the 18th century. The cartshed is constructed of snecked stone, and the hen house is made of random rubble, both topped with pantiled roofs.
The cartshed features seven segmental arches and five pitching holes above. It has a gabled roof with flat coping and includes outside stone stairs on the left side. The single-storey hen house, attached to the right, has an interior that contains large stone nesting holes.
