Description

Eland Lodge is an early to mid-19th century house and cottage, built in an Italian style. The house is constructed of ashlar, with a Welsh slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays. The left bay is recessed and features a single-storey, glazed porch with arched panels supported by three iron Doric columns made of numerous thin round bars. Tall, 15-pane sash windows are present throughout. Architectural details include a plinth, a first-floor sill band, and angle pilasters. The eaves project widely, resting on wooden brackets, and the roof is shallow pitched with four corniced ridge stacks containing two and three shafts.

A two-storey, lower service cottage (No. 18) is attached to the north-east corner of the house. The cottage has a boarded door and sash windows, and a gabled roof topped with a corniced end stack.
